On my lanai…

Thunder out at sea….

Drink in my hand.

Thinking about my life…….

The sun is retreating….

As the day turns to night…

Just a glimmer of light…

On a bleak horizon….

Yet that light reaches out….

To call me to its core…

With a promise to restore…

All that has been lost….

And in the calm of twilight…

There is a peace within me…

For despite the turmoil…

I have overcome the pain
