Uncertainty surrounds us
Always
Despite the calm
Of nature’s wonder

For at every turn
There comes the chance
That change can alter us
In an instant

Which is why
We need to remember
To embrace the beauty
Of every moment

Like the sky’s colors
At day’s end
So too must we face
Each day’s new wonder

Be it a challenge
A surprise
Or a burden to bear
We must rise to its calling

Delay is not an option
As plans must be in place
To clear the path
Towards the future we own

I wish things were easier
But they never are
For when we outgrow the old
We begin to confront the new

Reflections of glorious times
Though clearly tempered

And promises not kept

And so it is now
Writing the next chapter
With the words written yesterday
Now revealing the truth

For that time
So treasured in memory
Was filled with the unseen
Reflections of caution

It was her lips
That drew me to her
All else covered
With the silk of her hair

Inviting yet resistant
Silent yet speaking
Radiant yet sad
Sexy yet distant

But they spoke to me
Without movement
Without recognition
Until our eyes met

And for that moment
I could see into her soul
Until she quietly turned
And walked away
