I will never tire
Of sunsets in Paradise
At the pier downtown
That has seen it all
Where the lonely
And the beautiful
Will gather together
To witness its glory
Then to retreat
To their home on the beach
Or sublet East
Where only they know the truth
Is it in Paradise they live
Or Paradise they seek
Or is it merely the fantasy
Emboldened by the sky
Has the day ended
Or just begun
Or does it really matter
In the course of time
A day
A month
A year
Forever
For it’s always
Time to reflect
On what I’ve accomplished
And what I’ve missed
And I’ve done much of both
Yet never satisfied
As time does not stand still
To wait for us
Yet there is so much to do
And so little time
Since we are never stamped
With an expiration date
She arrived unexpectedly
At a time needed
For both of us to explore
The newness
Of rebirth, reawakening
And the sunshine
That had been hidden
For far too long
And as the light emerged
I found within her
A soul connected
To all I believe in
From Book 3 “Finding Love”
There is a reason for everything
A purpose to our lives
Why we struggle
Why we are challenged
We are meant to grow
To find our calling
With the greatest rewards
Requiring the greatest sacrifices
Mistakes are common
Just part of the process
Of bringing us here
And to clarity now known
To bring us to this time
And to this place
Where fantasy is real
And the road ahead bright
Out of the darkness
Of our own creation
And into the light
Of all that is possible
Into my life unexpected
While enjoying lunch
I witnessed
The hand of God
For time stood still
With no time to react
As metal and concrete
Collided besides me
Out of control
Within inches of me
A vehicle demolished
Where I could have been
There must be a reason
It is not yet my time
As my work is unfinished
My destiny awaiting
Questions I’ve asked
For all of my life
Became clearer
On a harrowing afternoon
For into my life Unexpected
While enjoying my lunch
I witnessed
The hand of God
